Elizabeth Weinandt has been practicing family law for more than 20 years and has been an integral part of our firm since 2020. Elizabeth brings a rare versatility to her practice. Whether a case calls for a negotiator, a problem solver, a litigator, or a compassionate guide, she adapts seamlessly to the role that best supports her client’s goals. For Elizabeth, success isn’t about following a rigid formula. It’s about helping clients reach the future they want for themselves and their families, with as little stress and expense as possible.
Elizabeth’s journey into law began with her studies in history and ethnic studies, which cultivated her love of research, writing, and a drive to stand against injustice. As an attorney, she is both empathetic and direct. She listens to her clients’ stories, acknowledges their experiences, and then provides clear, realistic guidance on the outcomes they can expect. Clients trust her not only because she believes in them, but because she prepares them thoroughly for every stage of the process, whether it’s mediation, a simple hearing, or complex trial litigation.
A hallmark of Elizabeth’s practice is her ability to balance two ends of the spectrum. She is a skilled collaborator who can find creative, family-focused solutions outside the courtroom, but she is equally effective in litigation when a case demands strong advocacy. She is especially proud of her work navigating cases involving mental health challenges and finding solutions in situations that others might consider impossible. Her creative problem-solving often includes reimagining schedules, exploring unconventional agreements, and integrating resources that support both the client and the entire family.
Elizabeth’s colleagues describe her as approachable and collaborative but also note that when litigation is necessary, she is a formidable advocate. Her abilities are recognized by her clients and by her peers, and she’s earned the distinction of SuperLawyer many times. She is deeply committed to teamwork, and frequently seeks input from fellow attorneys across both family and criminal law divisions to ensure no angle is overlooked.
Outside the office, Elizabeth enjoys crocheting, reading, bicycling, traveling, and spending time with her family. She lives by the philosophy of “doing the most good for the most people” and believes that people can be better than their worst mistake. Clients appreciate her ability to keep their focus on their long-term goals by guiding them toward outcomes that protect their future and preserve their dignity.
I work with clients who are experiencing a change in their family whether that’s divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, division of assets & debts, or adoption. My clients look to me to educate them on the law and potential outcomes while keeping their goals at the forefront. Family law can be highly contentious, and I have over 20 years of courtroom experience. But it can also present an opportunity to have a positive effect on reshaping a client’s family so they can move forward. My job is to help clients solve problems. It is an honor to be entrusted with a client’s family and future and this is why I have dedicated my career to helping families with all of their family law matters.
