Biography

Kelly Lamb is a family law attorney at Kohlmeyer Hagen Law Office who brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to helping individuals and families throughout Southern Minnesota navigate challenging legal matters. With a strong background in business management and negotiation, Kelly focuses on understanding his clients’ needs and developing practical solutions that protect their interests and help them move forward.

Kelly’s desire to help others began at an early age through his involvement in the Boy Scouts. While attending college, he realized that practicing law would allow him to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. He was particularly drawn to family law because of the opportunity to guide individuals through some of life’s most difficult transitions. Kelly believes that every client deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the legal process.

Resolving Conflict with Real Solutions

An attentive listener and skilled problem-solver, Kelly recognizes that understanding the people involved in a dispute is essential to finding an effective resolution. He enjoys negotiation and the opportunity to identify common ground, even in challenging circumstances. During law school, Kelly and his team won a regional American Bar Association Negotiation Team competition, an experience that helped shape his approach to resolving conflicts and advocating for clients.

Kelly also brings a valuable financial perspective to his family law practice. With years of small business management experience and an MBA, he is particularly interested in cases involving business ownership and complex financial considerations. His understanding of business operations helps him evaluate the practical and financial issues that can arise in divorce and other family law matters. He also values the collaborative environment at Kohlmeyer Hagen, drawing on the knowledge and experience of his colleagues to develop well-rounded strategies for his clients.

Originally from Montana, Kelly grew up around his family’s livestock feed and fertilizer business, an experience that helped shape his practical approach to problem-solving. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending live music and theater performances, and visiting museums. He also enjoys collaborative storytelling, a hobby that encourages creativity, active listening, and thinking through problems from different perspectives, which are skills he carries into his legal practice.
