Our Attorney

Biography

Criminal defense lawyer, Chris Cain, joined our firm in January 2023 and brings more than three decades of courtroom experience to our Criminal Law Division. His path to the law began early, sparked by lively debates with siblings, inspiring teachers, and a natural drive to pursue fairness and equity. Since becoming a certified student attorney in 1989, Chris has built a reputation as a tenacious advocate with a sharp eye for detail and a relentless commitment to his clients’ rights.

Chris believes every client should be heard, fully informed, and vigorously represented. To Chris, effective advocacy means more than legal knowledge. It means a personal connection and the willingness to prepare for every possible outcome. Chris is respected as a formidable presence in the courtroom. He excels in contested hearings and trials where nuanced arguments can make a significant difference. His background as a former prosecutor and training in journalism sharpened his ability to analyze facts critically, uncover hidden truths, and challenge assumptions. His experience gives clients a powerful advantage.

While Chris is fierce in the courtroom, he is also candid with his clients. He does not sugarcoat realities but instead provides honest assessments and clear guidance, so clients know exactly where they stand. For many, this direct approach builds trust and reassurance that their case is in capable hands. Clients often express their gratitude not only for favorable results, such as dismissals, but also for the tireless preparation and care he invests in every case.

Collaboration is another hallmark of Chris’s practice. He values the perspectives of colleagues and staff, knowing that strong teamwork leads to the best outcomes. He particularly enjoys negotiation and face-to-face advocacy, where his intensity and persistence shine.

Outside the office, Chris is just as active as he is in court. He recharges through sports and physical activity, from soccer and rollerblading to tennis, golf, basketball, and long walks. Guided by the motto “never give up,” he brings that same energy and determination to his clients’ cases, always striving to lighten their burden while fighting for the best possible outcome.
