About Madeline
Madeline is a native of lovely Saint Peter, MN.
Madeline attended high school in Saint Peter just a few blocks from the courthouse steps. As a child, Madeline played “court” with her twin sisters, who often served as her defendants. She sometimes acquitted her sisters, but at other times they went to “jail” in the corner of her living room. In high school, she participated in Mock Trial, where she competed three times in the Minnesota State Mock Trial Tournament, and eventually earned the title of “All-State-Attorney.”
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in History from the small and well-known liberal arts school of Goshen College, located in Goshen Indiana, Madeline was admitted to one of the oldest law schools in Minnesota, Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
While in law school, she clerked for several law firms, including Kohlmeyer Hagen Law Office, as well as both the Ramsey County and Minnesota Federal Public Defenders’ offices. As a law clerk, she handled numerous high-profile cases, including murder charges and serious drug trafficking crimes. Additionally, she was active in representing incarcerated individuals through Mitchell Hamline’s Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners Clinic, where she managed a variety of legal issues, including expungements.
After excelling in law school and graduating cum laude, Madeline clerked for the Honorable John R. Rodenberg at the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Through this experience, Madeline gained a valuable insight on how courts deeply analyze statutes and case law.
In her free time, Madeline enjoys world travelling and has spent time in Iceland, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Germany, France, and a semester in Peru. She additionally enjoys distance running and reading Stephen King novels.
